What do you think of our recycled outfits? Mrs Pope and Miss Davies were extremely impressed with them, and would like to say thank you very much to our Mums and Dads for helping us look so good out of rubbish!!

Eco words

We have made 'eco' words from sand using our letter moulds. Can you read the words we have made?

Our World

We have discovered that three quarters of the earth's surface is covered in water.

Sound games - Reading.

We play games that help us to learn our sounds. We throw the dice and whatever square we land on, we have to say the sound and look for an object from the middle of the board using that sound. We place our counters on the picture, and whoever gets four in a row wins the game! This all helps us with our reading

Let's investigate.

We have learnt how to make a light bulb light up. We know we need wires, a bulb, battery holder and batteries that work!! We had great fun investigating how we could make the bulb brighter.

Water from a dripping tap.

During our Eco week, we collected water from a dripping tap. We didn't waste the water though, we used it to water the plants and trees in our nature garden!

Keeping our nature area tidy.

We help to keep our year two nature area clean and tidy and weed free. It can be very hard work, especially when we've had lots of rain!!

Bubble Painting

We had great fun doing some bubble painting. We did get quite messy though!!

Rhys Cycle - Communicating information

We had a talk from Rhondda Cynon Taff council about how important it is for us to recycle. We had a special visitor who came to see us too - Rhys Cycle.

A visit from the firemen - Communication Skills

During Eco week, the firemen came to talk to us. They told us how important water is in their job! We asked them lots of good questions. After they had finished talking to us, they took us outside to see the fire engine and let us have a go at squirting the water. We thought this was great until they turned the hose and absolutely soaked us!!!! Great fun.
